Do I need Council Approval for my garden shed?
The best thing for you to do is to contact the Council of the City of Darwin directly at 08 8999 8985. You can initially check the Northern Territory Government website for official info on Building a garden shed, carport, fence or shade structure.
Just let them know you’d like to put up a garden shed. Keep handy the specifications, at least the size, of the shed you’re looking at. Generally, a garden shed that’s about 3m x 3m or smaller is fine. But best to check with them first to be safe.
What type of garden shed is right for me?
What we can do for you right away now, in terms of shed suggestions, is to share with you what our customers from Darwin have been buying.
The Premier 2.26m(W) x 2.26m(D) x 2m(H) in Zinc is first on the list. Made of the no-frills Zincalume material, it is tough as it looks and can withstand cyclonic conditions of up to 147 km/hr winds. It’s also available in Colorbond material, which is also durable, but with colour choices to suit your backyard design.
Our Eco Sheds are also popular for shoppers from the NT capital. Products from this range vary in size – from compact storage to roomy workshops. They’re all made of high-quality steel with lower environmental impact than the type used in most metal sheds.
